MANILA, Philippines — Reigning MVP Kevin Quiambao drilled the go-ahead trey as De La Salle University (DLSU) escaped National University (NU), 78-75, to open its title defense in the UAAP Season 87 men's basketball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Sunday.
With the game tied at 75, Quiambao found himself open on the left wing and drained the triple in the last 9.8 seconds that capped a 14-4 Green Archers run, enabling them to come back from a 64-71 disadvantage with 5:24 left.
