CALASIAO, Pangasinan — Officials of this central Pangasinan town placed the entire municipality under a state of calamity on September 7 due to the massive flooding caused by the southwest monsoon.

Even as the skies cleared on Sunday, September 8, floodwaters in 14 of this town's 24 villages continued to rise, Mayor Kevin Roy Macanlalay said.
