RICE farmers in two towns in Nueva Ecija recently received assistance worth P135.8 million in the form of postharvest facilities and financial assistance, which would boost the production of palay (unmilled rice) in the province.
Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. led separate activities in Jaen and Guimba to distribute rice mills and dryers that would benefit two farmers cooperatives with a total membership of 344 farmers, tilling a total 476 hectares in the two municipalities.
