Red Lions display high-caliber performance in season opener, down Pirates

MANILA, Philippines — The San Beda University (SBU) Red Lions roared loud in their NCAA Season 100 men's basketball tournament debut after fending off host Lyceum University of the Philippines (LPU) Pirates, 79-63, at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday, Sept. 7.

San Beda showcased its championship pedigree and sent a clear message after a 15-point lead early in the first half, 44-29.
