FINANCE Secretary Ralph Recto confirmed last August 29 that the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has terminated its contract with AllCard Inc., the supplier of the national ID, due to noncompliance with the contract terms.

On Sept. 3, 2024, in an interview with ABS-CBN News, AllCard denied that it was the cause of the delay in the national ID production and instead pointed to the BSP's designated supplier of raw materials as the culprit. In the same interview, AllCard president Roy Ebora said, "We also had challenges when it comes to certain materials that were sensitive to the project... that particular material was chosen by the BSP."
