To further raise the bar of the Philippine national volleyball team, Alas Pilipinas men and women's teams will go on a friendly match against Japan Clubs. Alas women's head coach Jorge Souza de Brito shared that they want to learn from the system and playing style of the nine-time world champion Japan. In the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) press conference at the EDSA Shangrila Hotel on Sept.6, 2024, the league announced that the friendlies wee part of the week-long ceremony of the much-anticipated draw on September 14. Games will be held at the PhilSports Arena on September 7, with the Alas Pilipinas women battling the Saga Hisamitsu Springs at 3 p.m., while the Alas Pilipinas men will try to snatch a win over the Osaka Bluteon at 6 p.m. VIDEO BY NICOLE ANNE D.G.
