THE Department of Science and Technology - National Capital Region (DoST-NCR), led by Secretary Renato Solidum Jr., launched the "Pamana Agham: Siyensya sa Bawat Habi at Hibla" event on August 28, 2024, at Casa Manila, Intramuros, Manila. This initiative, in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DoT), DoST-Philippine Textile Research Institute (DoST-PTRI), Intramuros Administration, and Partnerships for Sustainability Education (PSE), focuses on sustainable development and tourism.
DoST Undersecretary Engr. Sancho Maborrang highlighted the importance of preserving Filipino culture through traditional weaving, emphasizing that science and innovation enhance these traditions for future generations. Solidum reiterated that weaving reflects Filipino creativity, sustainability, and the blend of tradition with modern technology.
