NAVOTAS City Mayor John Rey Tiangco said on Thursday that the local government would build a "Bahay Kalinga" (shelter) for abandoned and abused children.

"We would dedicate this structure as a temporary shelter for children who were abandoned, neglected and abused. Every child deserves to grow up in a safe, loving environment. Bahay Kalinga is a symbol of our commitment to ensuring that even the most vulnerable among us are given the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential," Tiangco said, noting the breaking of grounds for the project already started in Barangay North Bay Boulevard, South-Kaunlaran.
