A TELESERYE-worthy bit of drama erupted on Tuesday in the Senate when, in a rare show of unity, the senators and half-brothers Jinggoy Estrada and JV Ejercito bitterly criticized San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora for blocking relief goods that the sons of former President Joseph Estrada intended to deliver to residents of the city. Zamora, who is not a political ally of the Estrada clan, took the action based on a city ordinance enacted on Monday, September 2, that requires all aid donors to coordinate with the City Social Welfare and Development Center (CSWD) and secure a clearance from the Office of the Mayor, or be subject to a P5,000 fine.
