(UPDATE) DUE to unexpected circumstances that includes his spine injury, Filipino pole vault ace Ernest John "EJ" Obiena said he and the organizing team decided to postpone the World Athletics-sanctioned pole vault event scheduled on September 20 at the Ayala Triangle in Makati City to next year.

"I am truly sorry for this. I and the organizing team worked tirelessly to make this happen; unfortunately, we encountered a few unexpected hurdles, including my fractured vertebrae," wrote Obiena in a Facebook post Monday evening.
