IMPROVING Filipino students' performance in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) is a high priority for the Department of Education. In recent years, the Philippines has struggled to make the grade in STEM education as compared to other countries.

Under the leadership of past President Eric Malo-oy, the Rotary Club of Bacolod-Marapara has been donating books as part of the club's plans to increase student interest in STEM programs.
