MANILA, Philippines — Filipino tanker Ernie Gawilan placed sixth in the men's 400m freestyle S7 final with a time of 5:03.18, concluding his Paris Paralympics campaign at the Paris La Defense Arena late Monday night, September 2 (Manila time).
The 33-year-old swam the first 200m of the race in seventh place and picked up speed in the final half, but only improved by a notch to finish the race matching his ranking in Tokyo three years ago.
