BACOLOD CITY — Two lawmakers defend the creation of the Negros Island Region amid moves to stop the implementation of Republic Act 12000, the law that created the NIR.
Negros Occidental Rep. Mercedes Alvarez-Lansang of the sixth district said that the NIR is geared towards the efficient delivery of government services in the region.
