THE two major toll operators in Metro Manila will begin implementing fines and penalties for not having a properly functioning RFID when entering toll roads from Oct. 1, 2024 onwards. This comes after Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista ordered the deferral and review of the tollways' performance.

The fines are substantial, ranging from P1,000 to P5,000, and cover a wide range of violations.
