GRAB Philippines is making life easier for commuters, announcing that nine out of 10 passengers who book a Grab ride are now getting matched with a driver in just 21 seconds on average. This faster booking time, compared to last year, is part of the company's push to provide more reliable transportation for commuters. In a playful twist, Grab's latest ad campaign tells passengers, 'Sorry, 'Di Mo Na Kami Pwede Gawing Excuse,' emphasizing that with improved driver availability, passengers can now count on Grab to get them where they need to go without delays. The improvements are credited to several key factors: fair fares that keep drivers active, new technologies that streamline bookings, and a growing pool of drivers on the platform.Grab has found a way to balance fair pricing for passengers while making sure its drivers are earning enough. Ronald Roda, Grab PH chief operating officer, said the platform uses data to set fares that work for both sides, even during fluctuating market conditions. This has resulted in drivers earning around twice the minimum wage in Metro Manila, encouraging more of them to stay on the road and be available for rides.Grab's new technology is also playing a big role in improving the service. Advance Booking allows passengers to schedule rides up to seven days in advance, with a 98-percent success rate, making it particularly useful for airport trips. Group Rides gives people the option to share rides with co-workers, cutting costs and optimizing trips. Meanwhile, the Multi-Taxi Type Booking feature allocates the nearest available vehicle, whether it's a four-seater or a six-seater, reducing wait times. To further enhance reliability, Grab has introduced a Ride Guide tool for drivers, directing them to high-demand areas and ensuring more passengers are picked up quickly.Last year, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board approved 25,000 additional slots for transportation network vehicle services, which significantly boosted Grab's ability to serve passengers. With more drivers on the road, the average pickup time has been cut to just six minutes, giving passengers enough time to prepare for their ride.'We're always working to improve the experience for both our passengers and drivers,' said Roda. 'As we continue to grow, we're committed to building a future where everyone in our Grab community can thrive.'With these changes, Grab is making sure that getting a ride is more reliable and stress-free for Filipinos, as it continues to cement its place in the country's ride-hailing industry.
