The Philippines gave Australia a fright in the fifth inning before succumbing to a 7-4 setback to open its bid in the group stage of the WBSC U-18 Women's Softball World Cup in Dallas, Texas on Friday (Manila time).
Down by five runs in the fifth inning, the young Blu Girls scored four runs capped by a two-run home run by Mylia Perez to cut Australia's lead down to one, 5-4.
