THE coco levy saga seems to be far from over. This time, it's the coco-levy-funded United Coconut Planters Bank or UCPB (Cocobank), which was absorbed by the Land Bank of the Philippines or LBP (LandBank) under an Executive Order 142 signed by then-president Rodrigo Duterte, in clear violation of the 2012 Supreme Court decision on the coco levy. Majority beneficial owners and minority shareholders alike have written to President Marcos, urging him to issue a new executive order to 'rectify the constitutional, legal and social infirmities attendant to the unjust Duterte EO.'
