Filipino pride in the national language

IN the Philippines, August is not shrugged off like the other months of the year.

August is known for being 'Buwan ng Wika' (Language Month) or 'Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa' (National Language Month). It is the time when Filipinos commemorate and celebrate Filipino as the national language since Manuel L. Quezon declared it in 1936.
