(UPDATE) SWIMMER Ernie Gawilan and para archer Agustina Bantiloc are set to carry the Philippine flag at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games on Wednesday (early Thursday in Manila).

Gawilan, who is from Davao City, won four Asian Para Games gold medals, three of which were in 2018. He also won nine Asean Para Games gold medals between 2014 and 2022. At the 4th Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, he won a gold and a bronze medal.
