IT could not have looked any more damaging or unreal if the Davao city police had declared a failed invasion of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy's 30-hectare Kingdom of Jesus Christ compound when they tried to flush out the missing "Appointed Son of God," who is wanted by the authorities on certain ungodly charges.

The police were supposedly acting on the information that the 74-year-old pastor and his associates were hiding under the maquis or inside the infrastructure, but the intel clearly proved to be misleading and false. The police reportedly threw 2,000 troops into the operations, but after long hours of meticulously combing the large compound, they came out worn and exhausted but empty-handed — no sign of Quiboloy or any of his associates.
