MANILA, Philippines — Classes in public schools and work in government offices in the National Capital Region (NCR) were suspended on Wednesday morning because of inclement weather, Malacañang said.

The suspension, brought about by the southwest monsoon or habagat and recommended by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), took effect at 7 a.m., as confirmed by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Facebook and by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin in a text message to Palace reporters.
