MANILA, Philippines — Scattered and isolated rain showers are expected in most parts of the archipelago, including Metro Manila all throughout the day brought by the southwest monsoon or "habagat," the state-run weather agency said on Tuesday.

In fact, this weather system will likely persist until the weekend, weather specialist Rhea Torres of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
