MANILA Electric Co. (Meralco) on Sunday announced it has added four more foreign universities as knowledge partners in developing nuclear energy as a power source in the Philippines.
The electric power distribution firm said it has signed several memoranda of understanding with Ontario Tech University in Canada, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in the United States, and Harbin Engineering University and Tsinghua University, both in China, to collaborate on the development and implementation of nuclear energy-related programs and joint research projects on the adoption of alternative power sources in the Philippines.
