ACCORDING to a 2021 World Bank study, the Philippines generates a staggering 2.7 million tons of plastic waste per year, of which an estimated 20 percent ends up in the ocean. The accumulation of mismanaged plastic waste poses a threat to poor urban areas, as plastic pollution may block the drainage system and cause flooding events.

As a response, Fisher Mall introduces Eco Rewards: Transforming Trash into Opportunities to promote effective waste management at the source. The initiative aims to engage mall tenants and local communities in environmental conservation efforts while providing economic benefits to residents.
