AGAINST the announced threat of the Duterte family to swamp the 2025 senatorial elections with its own dynastic candidates, Vice President Sara Duterte has announced she has no plans to run for president in 2028. This is a genuine surprise with serious implications to the nation's ruling political elite and other political forces, but the much bigger surprise comes from a multi-sectoral group led by the religious and retired military sectors, and calling for a total ban on all political dynasties, and an end to rampant graft and corruption, and rigged automated elections.
The call came today, promising a political rebirth of the religious and the military.
