(UPDATE) ALEX Eala of the Philippines continued her quest for a spot in the US Open main draw as she scored an upset victory in the second round of the qualifying tournament.

On Thursday (Manila time), world No. 148 Eala defeated No. 99 Nuria Parrizas in two sets, 7-5, 7-5, to keep her hopes alive.
