I AM a PhD candidate in Mathematics Education at the Ateneo de Manila University. I wrote a news feature article on the attendance of Ateneo de Manila University delegates at the 15th International Congress on Mathematical Education. Nicknamed Math Ed Eagles, the delegates consisted of five professors and 13 graduate students of the mathematics education programs offered by the Department of Mathematics. The running headline of my article was "Forging academic frontiers: MathEd eagles soar at ICME-15," and it was published on Aug. 13, 2024.

I am writing this letter to formally lodge a complaint against your reporter Antonio G. Papa, PhD, whose news article headlined, "PH math mentors, students join ICME-15 in Australia," and published in the website of the Manila Times, www.manilatimes.net, dated Aug. 15, 2024, was replete with lines and paragraphs that are exact replicas of my article. Eight out of 14 paragraphs in Papa's article were copied without properly citing me as the author or providing the link to my article. For your reference, I invite you to go to my news feature article and compare it to Papa's news article. Clearly, plagiarism has been committed! I, thus, demand that Mr. Papa's article be unpublished, that is, taken down from the Manila Times website. In addition, I demand that Mr. Papa issue a public apology for this crime.
