MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said on Thursday that it did not rule out the possibility of raising the alert status over Kanlaon Volcano in Negros Islands due to an increase in its seismic activity in the past days.

At present, the volcano is under Alert Level 2 which means increasing unrest, the agency said.
