POETRY, in its various forms, as a subject in the curricula graces all levels of education. Poetry could be part of a subject in general education, a major program of an academic degree, or as special studies in a discipline, such as literature. Education experts consider the value of teaching poetry due to its creativity, its being rich in self-expression and critical thinking skills.
