NEW DELHI — India's top court on Tuesday set up a national task force of doctors who will make recommendations on the safety of health care workers at their workplaces, days after the rape and murder of a trainee doctor sparked outrage and nationwide protests.

The Supreme Court said the doctors' panel would frame guidelines for ensuring safety and protection of medical professionals and health care workers across the South Asian country.
