MANILA, Philippines — June Mar Fajardo started the new season with the same energy and effort that made him the PBA's eight-time Most Valuable Player as he powered San Miguel Beer to a pulsating 111-107 win over a fighting Phoenix side in the main game of the PBA Season 49 Governors' Cup on Wednesday the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
The Cebuano star center, who collected a new PBA record eighth MVP during last Sunday's Leo Awards, was unstoppable in the Beermen's season-opening contest.
