TIWI, Albay — The children's "Viva La Virgen" chant reverberated all over the sea and on the mountain as the miraculous image of Nuestra Señora de Salvación made its way in the coastal villages of this town during the maritime procession over the weekend.

The voices of the children praising the 248-year-old image of the heavenly patroness of Albay generated goosebumps among the pilgrims joining in the armada of big and small boats. Their voices practically drowned the voices of the adult pilgrims.
