BACOLOD CITY — The police called on Negros Occidental residents to stop spreading fake news of alleged kidnapping incidents and reported missing persons on social media, which are causing alarm and creating unnecessary panic and fear.

After a thorough investigation and verification, Col. Joeresty Coronica, officer in charge of the Bacolod City Police Office, said the BCPO found no substantial evidence to support alleged robbery and kidnapping incidents in various areas in Bacolod City as reported on social media.
