Put people at the centre of urban policies, says new UN-Habitat chief

The new head of the UN agency working to make cities more sustainable is optimistic about how urban planning can meet people's need for adequate housing - while also protecting the planet.

Anacláudia Rossbach assumed the post of Executive Director of UN-Habitat, which is based in Nairobi, Kenya, on 12 August. She is an economist with more than two decades of experience working on issues of housing, informal settlements, land and urban policies.
