Data breach costs hit an all-time high in Asean

IN its latest Cost of a Data Breach Report, IBM revealed the average cost of a data breach in the Asean region reached a new high of $3.23 million in 2024, representing a 6 percent increase from the prior year. Among industries that experienced the highest breach costs were financial services with the costliest breaches ($5.57 million), followed by the industrial sector ($4.18 million) and technology ($4.09 million).

For Asean, the 2024 report included a cluster of sample companies located in Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.
