MANILA, Philippines — China will take "firm and decisive actions" against a Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) vessel that entered and anchored itself at the contested Sabina Shoal (Xianbin Jiao) in the South China Sea, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) said.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lian Jian said, "The Philippine vessel entered the lagoon of Xianbin Jiao (Sabina Shoal) without authorization and has remained there for an extended period, which significantly infringes on China's sovereignty, breaches the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea (DoC), and jeopardizes peace and stability in the South China Sea."
