Alex Eala of the Philippines continued her quest at the International Tennis Federation's (ITF) Cary Tennis Classic in Cary, North Carolina, United States by making it to the quarterfinal round on Thursday (Philippine time).
In the women's singles round-of-16, Eala defeated Russian Oksana Selekhmeteva, 7-6, 7-6, to remain in contention for the crown.
In the quarterfinals, Eala will face the winner of the match between Wei Sijia of China and Renata Zarazúa of Mexico.
