War crimes piling up in Myanmar – UN probers

GENEVA, Switzerland — Crimes against humanity and war crimes committed by Myanmar's military have 'escalated at an alarming rate,' United Nations investigators said on Tuesday, citing systematic torture, gang rape and abuses against children.

The UN's Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM) said that in the last six months, more than 3 million people were estimated to had been forced to flee their homes as conflict spiraled in the Southeast Asian country.
