Inauguration of 1st nationalshrine in Region 8 set today

MAASIN CITY, Southern Leyte — A festive atmosphere is expected here on Wednesday as Manila Archbishop Jose Advincula Jr. leads the inauguration and declaration of the Our Lady of the Assumption Church of the Diocese of Maasin as a National Shrine.

The event also serves as the main highlight of the Annual City Fiesta of Maasin.
