THE Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has made significant strides in its reforestation efforts, planting over 12 million trees and mangroves nationwide since 2020. This initiative aligns with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s call for integrating reforestation into disaster mitigation projects.

PPA's Port Management Offices (PMOs) have been instrumental in achieving this milestone, with Surigao leading the pack by planting nearly 4.9 million trees. Other top-performing PMOs include Socsargen, Agusan, Zamboanga del Norte, and Masbate.
