THE country's crop output in the second quarter decreased, while that of poultry increased, the Philippine Statistics Authority said in its latest report.
Total crop harvest from April to June 2024 was 15.56 million metric tons (MT), down by 13 percent from 17.88 million MT in the same period last year, according to the report, due to an annual decline in the production of sugarcane, which went down by 42.3 percent to 1.6 million MT from 2.8 million MT in 2022.
