TUGUEGARAO CITY — The video of a teacher's audacity and ingenuity in climbing a flagpole to fix the rope used in raising and lowering the flag on July 31 in the far-flung village of Savidung in Sabtang Island, Batanes went viral, hitting more than 6 million views.
Master Teacher Carol Figuro-de la Cruz of Savidug Elementary School in Sabtang, Batanes volunteered to climb the flag pole because it was too risky for elementary students to do it themselves.
