Scheffler edges Fleetwood to bag golf gold

(UPDATE) PARIS — Scottie Scheffler won men's golf gold on his Olympic debut with a thrilling one-stroke victory ahead of Britain's Tommy Fleetwood on Sunday.

The American world number one secured his seventh win of the year with a course record-equaling 62 at Le Golf National to edge out silver medalist Fleetwood on 19-under-par for the tournament.
