EJ Obiena misses podium in Paris

MANILA, Philippines -- The Philippines' Ernest John 'EJ' Obiena missed the podium as he placed fourth at the Paris Olympics men's pole vault final at the Stade de France early Tuesday, August 6 (Manila time).

One of the top Filipino bets to bring home a medal, Obiena, who owns the Asian record of 6.0m clearance, could only clear 5.90m as he fouled out at the 5.95m height in the 12-man final.
