WE were all ecstatic watching gymnast Carlo Yulo's historic performance in the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Not a few were moved to tears as we watched his reaction after winning not just one but two gold medals for the floor and vault events. We can only imagine the humongous pressure he had overcome to bring glory to our country, which only had one gold medal under the flag via weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz.
And then, I remembered another gymnast.
