Fears of Middle East war escalate

(UPDATE) BEIRUT — The possibility of wider armed conflict in the Middle East increased Saturday as Iran and its allies prepared to avenge the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.

This was blamed on Israel, stimulating fears of a regional war.
