NOVELETA, Cavite — In response to the oil spill caused by the sinking of MT Terranova in Limay, Bataan, the Department of Health-Center for Health Development (DoH-CHD) Calabarzon reminded local residents to exercise caution as oil spills pose significant risks to public health, causing harm through direct physical contact and by contaminating food sources and habitats.

Following the declaration of a state of calamity in several areas in Cavite including Rosario, Noveleta, and Kawit due to the oil spill, the office of Cavite 1st District Rep. Jolo Revilla immediately called an emergency response meeting with Kawit Mayor Angelo Aguinaldo, Noveleta Mayor Dino Chua, Rosario Vice Mayor Bamm Gonzales, municipal agriculturists and representatives from the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office to address the situation and to prepare for the distribution of aid for all affected fishermen.
