Bacyadan falls to Chinese foe in Olympic debut

MANILA, Philippines — Filipina boxer Hergie Bacyadan could not make a triumphant Olympic debut as she fell to two-time Olympic medalist and top seed Chinese Li Qian in the Paris Olympics women's 75kg round of 16 via unanimous decision at the North Paris Arena on Wednesday evening, July 31 (Manila time).

Bacyadan was more than willing to engage in a brawl but she simply could not land clean shots against the 3-time Olympian Li, who clearly did the opposite and earned five 30-27s in her dominant win.
