Hontiveros hits transfer of PhilHealth funds

SEN. Risa Hontiveros said on Tuesday that the transfer of unused Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) funds to the national coffers was unjustified and compromised the rights of every Filipino to quality and affordable health care.

The senator made the remark during the Senate Committee on Health public hearing on the Department of Finance (DoF) directive to transfer unused funds from government-owned and -controlled corporations (GOCC) to the unprogrammed national reserve.
