MANILA, Philippines — Filipino swimmer Kayla Sanchez posted a national record and entered the semifinals of the Paris Olympics women's 100m freestyle semifinals at the Paris La Defense Arena on Tuesday evening, July 30 (Manila time).
Sanchez timed 53.67 seconds and topped the previous Philippine standard she herself established to finish fourth in heat 4 and 10th overall in the 4-heat, 30 swimmer field, where the top 16 advanced to the next round.
